Founded by winelovers for winelovers, Domaine du Grand Mayne is located between Saint-Emilion and Bergerac, on the heights of the Côtes de Duras appellation. Believing in the preservaztion of a rich and complex ecosystem, our philosophy has guided us to build a sustainable model where we work with nature.

Domaine du Grand Mayne’s continuous vineyard has been designed to favorize biodiversity: polyculture, fallow, forests, gardens, all surround the vineyard; and to minimize our impact: tailored practices, replanting campaigns for minimal carbon footprint. Our grape varieties have been carefully selected to prosper on the mosaic of fertile terroirs present on the domain. Each plot has its respective management according to the relationship between the grape and its growing environment.

Our efforts have grown into the flourishing of our vineyard. With a subtle balance between modern and traditional tools and techniques, the berries harvested are fresh and full flavor. With a precise attention to the fruit, the identity of the terroir is revealed. Our winemaking process further establish the signature of Domaine du Grand Mayne’s multi-awarded wines.

The Team Grand Mayne has expertly crafted two distinctive ranges:

– Fruity:

Our winemakers have expertly crafted a selection of white, red and rosé wine with an accent on the fruit itself with a lasting freshness. Easy drinking wines where a glass calls for another. Our wines are aged in stainless thermo-regulated tanks to favor the natural fruit flavors of each grape variety. Fresh, well balanced and structured, our wines reveal the beauty of our terroir.

White Sauvignon Blanc

this wine shows a nice thirst-quenching freshness. Very tropical at the nose, it is concentrated and well balanced with a light citrusy taste at the end, finishing with a subtle acidity.

Red Merlot Cabernet

Lovely fresh red cherry aromas with spicy notes. It’s a very juicy wine, perfect for charcuterie aperitifs. The tannins are very light and well incorporated. Subtle complexity and well balanced, this wine is made for easy drinking.

Rosé Cabernet Merlot

“Better than ever” … The color is luminous with a powdery pink robe, the nose is expressive and complex mixing citrus, yellow peach, and flowers. The wine is delicate on the palate. It’s like a hug boosted by an exciting freshness. There’s a surprising long aftertaste of strawberries and a final flavor of orange skin.

-Reserve:

Only selecting the best from each plot and grape variety, the Reserve range is aged in different oak barrels depending on their character and desired outcome. Our Reserve wines are more gastronomical: embodiment of French “art de vivre”, they will perfectly match your great meals. Well structured, velvety and gourmet, our Reserve range offer sensual flavors over a powerful body. Our white and rosé are fermented and aged in barrel for 6 to 8 months while our red is aged in oak for 12 to 18 months.

Reserve White

A superb robe with aromas of yellow plums, passionfruit and greengage which are kissed by toasty oak notes and framed by a bracing acidity. A lingering, mouth-watering finish with a touch of jalapeno pepper spice makes it exquisite.

Reserve Rosé

A superb dry rosé with hints of toasted peach and roses, perfectly carried by a beautiful structure. Fresh yet generous, ample flavors with sunshine, a marvelous rosé for any good occasions.

Domaine du Grand Mayne has adapted its vineyard according to both terroir and sustainability. Being continuous allows for lesser intervention and a minimized carbon footprint. The surrounding environment of the vineyard is rich and highly diversified. Surrounded by polyculture and bewildered habitat, biodiversity is allowed to flourish.

We believe 80 % of the wine’s quality comes from the berry itself therefore it is essential for us to have a fertile growing environment for our vines. With a virtuous complex and fertile ecosystem at play, Domaine du Grand Mayne produces elegant wines fully reflecting the identity of a well-preserved terroir. Accepting nature as a direct contributor (opposed to working against nature), we have embraced the natural allies and challenges of this pristine environment.

The Team at Domaine du Grand Mayne has carefully adapted their techniques to each plot. This results in the production of the finest berries related to their habitat. As the fruit of our philosophy, the omnipresence of our rich terroir is felt within our wines.

United by the same ethics, our Team of experts carefully designs specific interventions to each plot, respecting the soil type, exposition, grape variety and general growing environment. The precision of our practices allows for optimum growth and ripening. The berries are harvested fresh in the early hours of dawn to keep maximum natural flavors. With a blend of modern and traditional tools, we process each harvest to fully reveal its unique identity.

Our winemakers have mastered the art of crafting our multi-awarded wines. Each year, it is with passion and full heart that we select the best to compose our two ranges: Fruity and Reserve. Two techniques to offer the full palette of our terroir. Our fruity range emphasizes the natural fruit flavors and freshness of the berries while the Reserve range offers more complexity as gastronomical wines with a French “art de vivre”.

Our modern cellars are designed to facilitate natural processing and optimum sustainability. Our winemakers tailor their technique respecting the character of each grape variety.
